Julia Saraceni

Research Associate

Julia is a Research Associate with ACER Consulting. She has a passion for improving the health and welfare of animals, the people who care for them, and the environment we all share. With a strong background in Ontario agriculture and mixed methods research, Julia is particularly interested in improving animal welfare through education and extension. Her training in epidemiology, quantitative statistical analysis, and qualitative thematic analysis provides her with a unique and diverse skillset that she is excited to bring to the ACER team.

Julia completed a MSc in Epidemiology from the Department of Population Medicine at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph in 2021. Her research used surveys and interviews to investigate Canadian and American dairy producer perspectives on the use of pain control for disbudding and dehorning calves. Through her research, Julia has developed a strong passion for the improvement of agricultural outcomes in Canada and is motivated to continue this work with the ACER team. In 2018, Julia also completed her BSc degree in Biological Science from the University of Western Ontario.

In 2021, Julia joined the ACER Consulting team as a Research Associate and is excited to use her education and research experience to improve animal health and welfare within the agricultural industry.
